It’s June 1st and I can’t believe we’ve been here for 10 months!! That can’t be possible! Only one more week of school for the girls! And in 2 weeks we’ll be leaving Abu Dhabi for the summer and heading back to the States to see family and friends!
I have to admit I have mixed feelings about leaving! I feel that I am just now getting it! I have a routine – a groove! People told us that it would take a year to feel comfortable here and they were right! I do feel comfortable here and feel good about our life here! Now we have to pack up what we think we’ll need for the summer and start a new routine! Which won’t really be a routine because we will be in Florida for a few weeks and then will head up to Tennessee to see my family, and then maybe in August we’ll head up to NY to see Leon’s family. We know that everyone wants to hear about our adventure!
The past 10 months have been more than I could have hoped for! We have travelled to Jordan, Turkey, Thailand, and explored the UAE. Elise travelled to India with the track team. The girls have made friends from all over the world, and have been educated about a part of the world that they didn’t know very much about. We have been exposed to an amazing culture, religion, and city. Nothing you could see on TV, read about, or even be told, can make you understand this place. This truly is an opportunity of a life time. I am thankful to Harris Corp for this adventure!
