Over the past 2 weeks, we have enjoyed a Christmas tree lighting at The Emirates Palace Hotel, sang Christmas Carols with hundreds of fellow Christians in the desert, visited a Christmas Market on display at a local hotel, and enjoyed a Winter Wonderland that included visits with Santa, & “snow” on the bushes. We hear Christmas carols being played in all of the stores, have been wished “Merry Christmas” by Muslim sales associates while shopping, seen incredibly beautiful Christmas trees in all of the local malls & hotels, and were able to buy a real Christmas tree for our own home.
Oh and yes all of this in a Muslim country. This is why we love the UAE – a wonderful country of tolerance and acceptance of the many religions of its 10 million residents from around the world. Thank-you UAE!
